Daniela Hantuchova

Daniela Hantuchova is a Slovak tennis player. She was born on April 23, 1983, in Poprad, Czechoslovakia. Her father Igor is a computer scientist and her mother Marianna is a toxicologist. Her grandmother Helena is a former tennis player.

In 1999, Hantuchova started her professional career. In 2001, she got WTA Newcomer of the Year Award. 2002 was the breakthough year for the athlete. She won her first WTA tournament as well as became a quarterfinalist of Wimbledon Championship and US Open. That year, she also got to top 10 and was called WTA Most Improved Player of the Year. In 2003, he became fifth after her performance at the Australian Open. Together with the Slovak national team, she won the 2002 Fed Cup and the 2005 Hopman Cup. She also took part in the Olympic Games of 2004, 2008 and 2012.

Daniela Hantuchova is the most successful Slovak tennis player of all time. She is the 37th woman in the Open Era to reach 500 career wins. Daniela is also a good doubles player. She won Wimbledon in 2001 with Leos Friedl, the Australian Open in 2002 with Kevin Ullyett, the French Open in 2005 with Fabrice Santoro and the US Open in 2005 with Mahesh Bhupathi.

Besides her sports career, Daniela also took part in various advertisement campaigns and photoshoots. She even released her own calendar. She posed for 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition together with Maria Kirilenko and Tatiana Golovin and posed nude for “ESPN: The Magazine’s “The Body Issue”. She advertized Nike and Adidas sportswear as well as rackets by Babolat, Yonex, Prince and HEAD.
