Evangeline Lilly

Canadian actress Evangeline Lilly was born on August 3, 1979, in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

Evangeline attended W. J. Mouat Secondary School in Abbotsford, British Columbia. While studying at college, she worked as a waitress and later, was a flight attendant for Royal Airlines. She also studied International Relations at the University of British Columbia.

After signing a contract with Ford Modeling Agency, Lilly got roles in commercials and non-speaking roles in “Smallville” and “Kingdom Hospital”. The turning point in her career started after she got a role in “Lost”. The TV series became extremely popular and was called the top-rated TV show of the decade. The actress was called one of “Breakout Stars of 2004″ and got a Golden Globe nomination for Best Lead Actress-Drama. In 2010, she played in “The Hurt Locker”, an Academy Award-winning film. The actress is also famous for her role of elf Tauriel in “The Hobbit” movies. She played in “Afterwards” (2009), “Real Steel” (2011) and “Ant-Man” (2015).

In 2009, Lilly became the face of L’Oreal cosmetics. In 2014, she published her children’s book “The Squickerwonkers”. The actress also does much humanitarian work. Once, she said that she used her high profile roles “to further her humanitarian efforts, not to achieve stardom”. She is fond of ice skating, canoe, snowboarding and rock climbing.

In 2003-2004, Evangeline was married to hockey player Murray Hone. From 2004 to 2009, she dated actor Dominic Monaghan. Since 2010, she is in relationship with Norman Kali. They have two children.
