Hilary Duff

American actress and singer Hilary Duff was born on September 28, 1987, in Houston, Texas. She is a daughter of businessman Robert Erhard Duff and his wife Susan Colleen, a Hilary’s manager. She has older sister Haylie.

Since childhood Hilary and her sister went in for acting, singing and ballet classes. In 1993, together with their mother, the girls moved to California. Hilary took part in many TV commercials. Because of her career, she studied at home since she was eight.

In the beginning of her acting career, Duff had small roles in “True Women” TV series (1997) and “Playing by Heart” (1998). In 1998, she got her first leading role in “Casper Meets Wendy”. After having a supporting role in “The Soul Collector” (1999), Hilary Duff received a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie or Pilot (Supporting Young Actress). The real success came to Hilary in 2001 after the launching of TV series “Lizzie McGuire”. Her other famous works are “Agent Cody Banks” (2003), “Cheaper by the Dozen” (2003), “A Cinderella Story” (2004), “Material Girls”(2006) and “Beauty and the Briefcase” (2010).

Duff’s musical career started in 2002 with performing soundtrack to “Lizzie McGuire”, a cover of the Brooke McClymont song “I Can’t Wait”. The same year, she released Christmas album “Santa Claus Lane”. In 2003, she presented “Metamorphosis”, which became her best-selling album.

Hilary also signed a contract with IMG Models and launched two clothing lines “Stuff by Hilary Duff” and “Femme for DKNY” in cooperation with DKNY Jeans. In 2006, she introduced her own fragrance “With Love… Hilary Duff”. In 2010, the actress and singer published her first book “Elixir” in cooperation with Elise Allen. In 2011 and 2013, its sequels, “Devoted” and “True”, were presented.

In 2010, Duff got married to hockey player Mike Comrie. In 2012, she gave birth to their son, Luca Cruz Comrie. In 2014, the couple filed for a divorce.
