Mandy Moore

American actress and singer Mandy Moore (full name is Amanda Leigh Moore) was born on April 10, 1984, in Nashua, New Hampshire. Her mother Stacy is a journalist and her father Donald is a pilot. She has brothers Scott and Kyle. Mandy has Russian Jewish, English, Irish and Scottish ancestry.

Moore got interested in singing after watching “Oklahoma!” musical. Her first public performance took place at the sports competition in Florida, where she sang the National Anthem. She studied at Park Maitland School in Matiland and took part in its production of Broadway Musical “Guys and Dolls”. Soon, she signed a contract with Epic Records. In 1999, she took part in a joint tour with NSYNC and later with the Backstreet Boys. The same year, her first album “So Real” was introduced. Her first single “Candy” received a Gold certification by the RIAA.

In 2001, Mandy Moore debuted in movie “Dr. Dolittle 2″ by voicing a Girl Bear Cub. Later, she got a supporting role in “The Princess Diaries”. Her first leading role was in “A Walk to Remember” (2002). She also starred in such movies as “Chasing Liberty” (2004), “American Dreamz” (2006), “License to Wed” (2007), “Tangled” (voice of Rapunzel)(2010) and “Love, Wedding, Marriage” (2011).

Moore also has her own fashion line “Mblem” (launched in 2005). In addition, she is a philanthropist. She cooperated with Population Services International, the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation and GlaxoSmithKline, was the Honorary Chairperson of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s division on awareness for youth. She is the spokesperson for Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. Mandy also participated in malaria prevention campaign and the one against domestic violence.

In 2009, Mandy married singer Ryan Adams, but they got divorced in 2015. The same year, she started relationship with guitarist Taylor Goldsmith.
