Reese Witherspoon

American actress Reese Witherspoon was born on March 22, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to otolaryngologist John and nurse Mary.

At 7, she was a model for a florist’s television advertisements. At 11, she won the Ten-State Talent Fair. Reese attended Harpeth Hall School and majored in English literature at Stanford University. She left the university after 1 year of studies to proceed with her acting career.

In 1991, Witherspoon came to the casting for “The Man in the Moon”, hoping to get a small role. However, she got the lead one and made her acting debut. Moreover, she was nominated for the Young Artist Award Best Young Actress. The international recognition came to her after the release of “Legally Blonde” in 2001. 2006 movie “Walk the Line” brought the actress the Golden Globe Award, the Screen Actors Guild, the BAFTA and the Academy Award for Best Actress. The other famous movies of the actress are “Election” (1999), “Sweet Home Alabama” (2002), “Four Christmases” (2008), “Water for Elephants” (2011), “Wild” (2014) and “Hot Pursuit” (2015).

In 2010, the actress got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She also owns production company “Pacific Standard”. Since 2007, she is a Global Ambassador of Avon Products. In 2015, she launched retail brand Draper James. In addition, she does a lot of charitable work, is on the board of the Children’s Defense Fund and fights for women’s and children’s rights.

In 1999-2008, Reese was married to actor Ryan Phillippe. They have two children: daughter Ava and son Deacon. In 2011, she got married to talent agent Jim Toth. In 2012, their son Tennessee was born.
