Rosario Dawson

Actress, singer and writer Rosario Dawson was born on May 9, 1979, in New York. Her mother Isabel Celeste is a writer and singer of Puerto Rican and Cuban ancestry, who gave birth to the girl at 16. Rosario has never seen her biological father and was raised by her mother’s husband Greg Dawson.

Being a child, Dawson appeared in “Sesame Street” TV series. In 1995, she got her first feature film role in “Kids”. Her other famous roles include the ones in “Men in Black II” (2002), 25th Hour (2002), “Alexander” (2004), “Sin City” (2005), “Clerks II (2006)”, “Eagle Eye” (2008), “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” (2010), “Unstoppable” (2010) and “Trance (2013)”.

In 1999, she cooperated with Prince and provided help for his album “1999″. The same year, she appeared in The Chemical Brothers’ video for “Out of Control”. In 2005, she made her stage debut in the Public Theater’s “Two Gentlemen of Verona”.

Dawson is also a political, social and environmental activist.
