‘1917’ Battles to $3.25 Million at Thursday Box Office in Expansion to Wide Release

Fresh off a Golden Globe win for Best Picture, Sam Mendes’ and Universal’s war epic “1917” earned $3.25 million in box office previews from 2,900 on Thursday as the film expands into wide release on 3,434 North American screens this weekend.So far the movie has earned an estimated $5.97 million at the box office after opening in limited release on Christmas Day.
