It wouldn’t necessarily be accurate to call Denis Villeneuve, Lynne Ramsay, Bennett Miller, Yorgos Lanthimos, and Todd Haynes horror film directors, but they’ve all made at least one terrifying movie.
Halloween is right around the corner, and if you’ve had your fix of “The Shining,” “The Exorcist,” and other go-to scary films, then why not try a non-traditional horror movie that’s still bound to give you a nightmare? That’s where Villeneuve’s “Prisoners,” Ramsay’s “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” Lanthimos’ “The Killing of a Sacred Deer,” and Haynes’ “Safe” come into play.
