This is simply a bizarre Emmy category this year with notable performances from a ton of projects that earned mixed reviews at best.
Laura Dern “should” get in for a film that debuted at Sundance before HBO acquired it, “The Tale,” as should Jessica Biel for “The Sinner,” but everyone else? Their chances are tenuous at best.
