After the conclusion of the gorgeous first arc in the third episode, the new Star Wars show is carefully laying the foundations for Cassian (Diego Luna) to eventually turn into the accomplished Rebel spy we know from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
As expected, the overall tone of the series is highly political, emphasizing the abyss that exists between the might of the Galactic Empire and its subjects, and how profoundly affected the lives of ordinary people are under an authoritarian regime.
