Clint Eastwood is getting in the 2018 awards race with his new movie, The Mule.
Variety reports that the Warner Bros.
thriller will open on December 14th and will face off against the blockbuster Mortal Engines, the rom-com Second Act, and the animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
However, Variety notes that The Mule is more of a “commercial effort” and not expect to be a major Oscar contender, although with the Academy’s love for Eastwood, you never know.
