Emily Blunt‘s performance in “Edge of Tomorrow” turned a lot of heads in Hollywood.
Her great, strong female lead performance, as muscular, war-torn hero Rita, was part of the reason why the film worked so well.
The believability she brought to the testosterone-fueled action was surprising given that we didn’t know the 35-year-old actress had it in her to kick this much ass onscreen.
This lead to an abundance of rumors claiming that she was a major contender for the title role in Marvel‘s upcoming “Captain Marvel.” Truth be told those rumors did start after a big internet push was made for Blunt to nab the role in the female-led superhero flick, which, after DC’s triumph with ‘Wonder Woman” last summer is set to be the first of its kind for Marvel.
