Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman’s son has issued a statement in defense of his father, whose character has been questioned by media outlets throughout the awards season due to domestic abuse accusations stemming from an alleged 2001 incident.Gulliver Oldman (pictured, far left), the 20-year-old son of the “Darkest Hour” star and former model Donya Fiorentino, called out “clickbait journalism” for perpetuating an episode he declares “did not happen.” Noting that he’s a supporter of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, Gulliver adds: “I can see how coming out with a statement to combat an allegation must look.

However, I was there at the time of the ‘incident,’ so I’d like to make this radiantly clear: it didn’t happen.

Anyone who says it did is lying.”The statement comes one day after the Daily Mail resurfaced an interview, which Gulliver references, with Fiorentino calling her four-year marriage to his father a “nightmare.
