Dench takes issue with decision to cut actor out of Getty kidnap film All the Money in the World over sexual assault allegations, and praised his friendship in her time of griefJudi Dench has defended disgraced actor Kevin Spacey, saying she “can’t approve” of the way he was removed from the recent Ridley Scott film All the Money in the World, about the J Paul Getty III kidnap, and replaced with Christopher Plummer.Speaking to journalists at the San Sebastian film festival, where she received a lifetime achievement award, Dench said Spacey was “a good friend” and had been an “inestimable comfort” and “kept me going” while they worked together on The Shipping News after the death of her husband Michael Williams in 2001.
