‘Justice League’: Snyder Cut Delivers a Better Wonder Woman Than Joss Whedon, but She Still Deserves More

[Editor’s note: The following article contains spoilers for both the theatrical cut of “Justice League” and the Snyder cut, along with small spoilers for both “Wonder Woman” and “Wonder Woman 1984.”]Since its spectacularly ill-fated theatrical release in November 2017, Joss Whedon’s version of “Justice League” has earned itself many detractors — from original director Zack Snyder and his legions of fans, to even some of its stars — though few personally felt Whedon’s choices as much as “Wonder Woman” and “Wonder Woman 1984” director Patty Jenkins.When Jenkins appeared on “ReelBlend” podcast last December, she was asked about how Whedon’s theatrical cut impacted her plans for Wonder Woman, including her sequel “Wonder Woman 1984,” which Jenkins was already plotting when Whedon’s film hit theaters.
