Keith Thomas to Direct ‘Firestarter’ Reboot for Universal and Blumhouse

Keith Thomas will direct Universal Pictures, Blumhouse Productions and Weed Road Productions adaptation of Stephen King’s classic sci-fi thriller novel “Firestarter,” an individual with knowledge of the project tells TheWrap.Screenwriter Scott Teems (“Halloween Kills”) is adapting.

Martha De Laurentiis, who was an associate producer on the 1984 adaptation of “Firestarter” starring a young Drew Barrymore, will executive produce.
