Anyone who saw “Hamilton” on Broadway knows that Grammy and Tony-winner Leslie Odom Jr.
can hold the stage.
He can hold the screen, too, although he admits that he’s not as comfortable with it.
That isn’t stopping him; the 39-year-old Queens-native is chasing after “all the things no one would dare let me work on before ‘Hamilton,’” he said.“Film acting is such a public way to learn, to experience trial and error,” he said.
“It’s also new to me.
I’ve only racked up a handful of film credits.
Some of them have worked, some of them haven’t.
I watched through my fingers.”He didn’t have to do that with “One Night in Miami,” which matches the actor-musician with ’60s pop star Sam Cooke.
