Netflix waited five years to burn Neil deGrasse Tyson on Twitter, and the wait was worth it.
With “Armageddon” now available on the streaming service, whoever runs its social-media accounts took the occasion to unearth one of the astrophysicist’s many snarky tweets and lampoon his tendency to take the fun out of movies by pointing out their scientific inaccuracies.Way back in the long-ago days of February 2013, Tyson tweeted that he was “ready to watch the 1998 film Armageddon (in which the laws of physics are optional)” while simultaneously lamenting the fact that said end-of-the-world drama was “nowhere on Netflix or iTunes.” Michael Bay’s movie — which stars Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck as oil drillers tasked with saving the planet by planting explosives on an asteroid headed toward earth — is now on Netflix, hence this response: “well its on there now if u wanna ruin it for everyone, neil.
