Paul Verhoeven Denies Misleading Sharon Stone into ‘Basic Instinct’ Nudity: ‘Impossible’

Paul Verhoeven responded in an interview with Variety to Sharon Stone’s claim that she was misled into appearing nude in an infamous scene in the 1992 erotic thriller “Basic Instinct.” Stone writes in her memoir “The Beauty of Living Twice,” published in March, that she didn’t know her genitals were exposed in the movie until a screening filled with agents and lawyers.“That was how I saw my vagina-shot for the first time, long after I’d been told, ‘We can’t see anything — I just need you to remove your panties, as the white is reflecting the light, so we know you have panties on,’” Stone writes.
