“Pose” Star Indya Moore Joins Modern Take on “Frankenstein”

Indya Moore is to star in an adaptation of “Frankenstein” that is described as a genderbending retelling of the classic story with a modern twist.Moore, who plays Angel in Ryan Murphy’s new FX drama “Pose,” will appear in the short film titled ‘Magic Hour‘ and is also credited as executive producer.On the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein,” the short follows a mysterious young woman who wakes up one morning without a soul and roams the streets of Tokyo in search of one.Moore is one of a record-breaking five trans actors who have taken leading roles in “Pose,” set within the ball scene of 1980s New York and co-created by Murphy, the creative force behind “American Horror Story,” “Glee,” and “Feud.” The first season began airing on June 3 and runs until July 22.Moore previously starred in musical drama ‘Saturday Church,’ which debuted at Tribeca and picked up several awards at LGBTQ film festivals in 2017.In ‘Magic Hour,’ she stars as Bella alongside a cast that also includes Yuka Taga and Niclas Ericsson.The film will shoot on location in Tokyo and New York City, with the Japanese portion of the production understood to have wrapped on July 4.Upcoming Brooklyn-based filmmaker Che Grayson has written and directed ‘Magic Hour.’
