debut.The mainland opening will hit after the country’s National Day holiday in the first week of October, which this year marks a key and politically sensitive anniversary — the 70th year after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Censors have been on high alert ahead of the important date for the ruling Communist Party.The weeklong holiday is typically a time when Chinese authorities impose an unofficial blackout on foreign titles to support the local industry.
This year, it is also an occasion where the line-up will be dominated by patriotic films that laud the Party and animated titles.
