Tobe Hooper’s 1974 “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” is one of the scariest movies ever made.

There are several factors backing up such a big claim, but what really makes Hooper’s film so damn effective is how real it all feels.

The film isn’t based on a true story, but it presents itself in a manner that feels authentic.
