Ever since Sony announced plans to produce a film based on the Marvel villain, Venom, fans were confused.
The main source of confusion stems from the fact that, as part of the Marvel Studios/Sony deal, Spider-Man is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while the “Venom” film is clearly not.
So, how can you make a film based on a Spider-Man villain, without Spider-Man?
