But it isn’t a horror movie, it’s a Zoom interview, and Ross, a Golden Globe-winning actor best known for her role in the Us sitcom Black-ish, is talking to me from the sunny living room of her home.

Or at least she was; right now, I’m staring at a fiddle-leaf fig tree and a comfortable-looking couch.
