Christopher Nolan may be the foremost director working right now, and the champion of film in general, but he gained his mainstream fame following the success of his Dark Knight trilogy from 2005 to 2012.
With Christian Bale as his Bruce Wayne, Nolan made the three financial and critical successes that were Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.
Unfortunately for Bat-fans, he won’t be returning to the superhero genre again.
