It was a wild scene at the first night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday, with an Oscar-winning documentary holding court over its television brethren.
National Geographic’s “Free Solo” went seven for seven at the ceremony, winning every award it was nominated for, including trophies for directing, cinematography, and editing.Meanwhile, Netflix’s animated sci-fi anthology series “Love, Death, and Robots” scored five awards, with four previously announced notices for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation, as well as the award for Outstanding Short Form Animated Series.
