Disney Accused of Plagiarizing ‘Solo: A Star Wars’ Posters From French Artist Hachim Bahous

Disney is facing a plagiarism accusation from French artist Hachim Bahous, who claims the company used his album cover designs for their series of “Solo: A Star Wars Story” character posters.

The studio debuted the four posters on February 5.

Each poster features one of the film’s main characters: Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich), Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke), and Chewbacca.Bahous noticed that the designs for the Disney posters resembled his own work creating legacy album covers for Sony Music France.

Both images have nearly identical typography and color schemes and feature people rendered inside the bold letters.

Bahous’ posters were created in 2015.The artist posted a photo in which he put his designs and the “Solo: A Star Wars Story” posters side by side in order to provide a visual to support his claim.
