As an art form, cinema is still in its infancy when one compares it to others.
Modern cinema as we know it has barely just begun, with the 21st Century bringing about some of the most revolutionary filmmaking techniques and boundary-breaking movements within the industry.
Despite this, with the year now being 2023, we are seeing more and more centenary anniversaries as screen media hits its most significant milestone to date.
For example, in 2022, the BBC was officially 100 years old, with many of the most influential television programs, including Doctor Who, hosting specials to celebrate the achievement.
Earlier this year, the Academy Awards held their 95th ceremony, a monumental landmark.
Perhaps even more important than all of these, when one considers its historical relevance and impact on film culture, is 2023’s centenary celebration of Disney.
