Pre-DITs, intimacy coordinators and crowdfunding campaigns there was Tom Dicillo’s indelible ode to l0w-budget filmmaking, Living in Oblivion, which is something of a Day for Night for the indie scene.
“When you’re in the middle of making a movie and that stuff goes wrong, it’s not funny,” Dicillo told Matt Mulcahey on the occasion of the 1995 movie’s 20th anniversary, but funny Living in Oblivion is, even if the humor is, for filmmakers, of the cringe sort.
