The murder mystery is a subgenre that has experienced a significant renaissance in the last few years.
And much of that is due to writer/director Rian Johnson who seemingly singlehandedly revitalized the genre with his commercial and critical smash hit “Knives Out” in 2019.
The whodunnit allows filmmakers to gather a large cast with exuberant sets and a mystery to be solved at its core.
