‘Mission: Impossible 7’ Earns $16 Million Opening Day Box Office

The opening day box office numbers for the latest installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise are in, and they give a somewhat obscured look at an uncertain opening weekend for the film.

According to the Deadline report, the Christopher McQuarrie directed Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One took in $16 million on its opening day, including the $7 million during previews.

This falls short of both Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Mission: Impossible – Fallout, the previous installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise, which both took in between $22 million and $23 million.
