Pixar announced its next original animated movie will be called “Luca,” a coming-of-age adventure set in Italy.
It will release in U.S.
theaters next summer.Enrico Casarosa (“La Luna”) is directing the film, which is expected to open on the big screen on June 18, 2021.
Disney shared details about “Luca” on Thursday after word started to leak online that the company filed a trademark application for the title.“This is a deeply personal story for me, not only because it’s set on the Italian Riviera where I grew up, but because at the core of this film is a celebration of friendship.
