Sarah Silverman, Judd Apatow, and Others Blast Terry Gilliam for Ill-Advised #MeToo Comments: ‘Idiotic and Dangerous’

Terry Gilliam didn’t endear himself to many when he said that #MeToo is both “silly” and turning into “mob rule,” lamenting that the movement is akin to a group of people “carrying their torches and they are going to burn down Frankenstein’s castle.” Though he clarified that Harvey Weinstein — with whom the Monty Python member and filmmaker worked on “The Brothers Grimm” — is a “monster” and “asshole,” Gilliam also said that, for some women, “a night with Harvey — that’s the price you pay.”His comments have drawn widespread ire, including from fellow members of the film community.
