With Bradley Cooper’s fourth official iteration of the tragic showbiz romance to end (and begin) all tragic showbiz romances now in cinemas, it’s one many film lovers will be repeating as they consult their DVD libraries and streaming accounts: I’ve alluded to this a couple of times in recent months, but the time for a comparative Star Is Born super-marathon – whether in preparation for Cooper’s sterling new version or as a post-cinema treat – is finally upon us.
