After a three year hiatus, the 2022 edition of D23 Expo pulled out all the stops.Thousands of the world’s biggest Disney fans made the pilgrimage to Anaheim for a sneak preview of the conglomerate’s upcoming projects over the weekend, and Disney didn’t leave them hanging.
Though there was an opening ceremony on Thursday night, the action really began on Friday with a long presentation detailing all of Disney’s upcoming animated projects (along with a few live-action remakes of beloved animated films).
The slate tried to walk the line between nostalgia and originality, announcing sequels like “Inside Out 2” as well as new projects such as “Wish,” a musical telling the origin story for the star that Disney characters often wish upon.
