The Scrapped Gambit Movie Would Have Been ‘Mutant Goodfellas In New Orleans’

In the list of movies I’d like to have seen, the Channing Tatum-led “Gambit” is up there.

One, because Tatum has enough charm to pull off my favorite character from “X-Men: The Animated Series,” and two, because of what “Gambit” co-writer Reid Carolin told The Playlist (via Heroic Hollywood) about the story we would have seen in the film. Scheduling conflicts and rewrites for “X-Men: The Last Stand” and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” kept him out of an ensemble picture, before finally the solo “Gambit” film was scrapped after time spent in development hell.
