This ‘Coming to America’ Performance Overshadows Eddie Murphy

It’s nearly impossible to examine Eddie Murphy’s overall brilliant career without bringing up the movie that arguably propelled him to new levels among the Hollywood comedy elite.

Sure, it’s easy to single out early classics such as Trading Places, 48 Hours, and Beverly Hills Cop, but when it comes to full-on comedy, Coming to America gets the crown.

Released in 1988, the film showcased Murphy’s comedic talents with both character work and perfect timing.

Afterward, audiences were now waiting anxiously for Murphy’s next flick.

However, the one performer that didn’t get the full recognition that he deserves is the highly talented Arsenio Hall.
