‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Blasts Past Expectations With $32 Million Friday Box Office

Sony/Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Far From Home” is showing that even after “Avengers: Endgame,” interest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn’t faded in the slightest.

The film added $32.6 million from 4,634 screens on Friday, and is now estimated for a six-day opening of $188 million.By comparison, 2017’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” earned $154 million in its first six days of release, going on to gross $334 million domestic and $880 million worldwide.

It’s good news for Sony, which is hoping for a very strong July after “Men In Black: International” fizzled at the box office with just $71 million grossed in North America through this weekend.

Reception for the latest McU film has been characteristically strong with an A on CinemaScore and a 92% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Also Read: ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Eyes Huge Start to Crucial July Box Office for SonyThe rest of the top five is also
